On 27th November 2025, Patrick O'Callaghan presented a paper on the normative foundations of the right to freedom of thought, as revealed in Virginia Woolf's Mrs Dalloway and her essay on Montaigne.
Patrick explored the idea of the 'opacity of the soul', one of the core themes of Woolf's writings, and drew connections to contemporary debates about the practical use of the right to freedom of thought in the context of socio-technological transformations.
