We are delighted to announce that there will be a roundtable on Law and the Inner Self at the World Congress of Philosophy in Rome in August 2024.
The roundtable marks the mid-point of our project and we will present work completed to date on each of our six bodies of jurisprudence. We will also outline future plans, hear from experts in the field and discuss potential new directions.
Legal scholars, philosophers and psychologists working on intersections between law and the inner self will participate in the roundtable. They include:
Felicitas Benziger (University College Cork)
Heping Dang (Chinese University of Hong Kong)
Talya Deibel (University College Cork)
Kelly Amal Dhru (University of Hamburg)
John Francis (University of Utah)
Leslie Francis (University of Utah)
Simon McCarthy Jones (Trinity College Dublin)
Mark Morgan (Advocate and Acting Judge of the High Court of South Africa)
Patrick O'Callaghan (University College Cork)
Sfiso Nxumalo (University of Oxford)
Giulia Maria Servida (University of Milan)
Bethany Shiner (Middlesex University and the University of Oxford)
Emine Ozge Yildirim (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven)
We are especially excited that the World Congress of Philosophy is hosting our roundtable as we see this as a unique opportunity to connect with philosophers and identify new avenues of inquiry. If you are attending the Congress and are interested in the topic, we would be delighted to see you there!
The Congress takes place from 1st to 8th August 2024. We will share details of the day and time of our roundtable once the programme has been published. In the meantime, please get in touch if you have any questions: lawinnerself@gmail.com
